Responsibilities
- Architect and lead R&D roadmaps for 2026-era technologies including quantum neural networks and biocompatible AI
- Identify and evaluate emerging tech paradigms through horizon scanning and trend analysis
- Secure strategic partnerships with academic institutions and global innovation hubs
- Present futuristic concepts to C-suite executives and investors with data-driven impact projections
- Oversee prototype development in our Austin Innovation Lab, ensuring alignment with 2026 societal needs
- Lead cross-functional teams of quantum physicists, AI ethicists, and sustainability experts
- Develop intellectual property portfolios with 15+ patent applications annually
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Quantum Physics, or related field (or equivalent industry breakthroughs)
- 10+ years in technology R&D with proven impact on emerging technologies
- Published thought leadership on 2026 tech trends (e.g., Nature, IEEE)
- Expertise in at least three of: quantum computing, synthetic biology, neuromorphic engineering, or decentralized AI
- Track record of securing $50M+ in innovation funding
- Proficiency in futures methodologies (e.g., Delphi, scenario planning)
- Portfolio demonstrating transformational tech contributions (GitHub, patents, or products)
- Ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences
