Responsibilities
- Develop and execute 5-year technology roadmaps for quantum computing, synthetic biology, and neural interfaces
- Lead cross-functional innovation sprints with R&D, product, and engineering teams
- Identify emerging trends through patent analysis and academic research partnerships
- Present strategic briefings to C-suite and board of directors
- Manage $2M+ annual innovation budget with ROI-focused allocation
- Represent company at global tech summits and future-focused symposiums
- Mentor junior futurists and establish ethical frameworks for emerging technologies
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Bioengineering, or related field
- 10+ years in R&D leadership with 5+ years in future technology forecasting
- Published research in Nature/Science journals on quantum or AI applications
- Experience with technology horizon scanning and scenario planning methodologies
- Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, and quantum programming frameworks
- Track record of commercializing emerging technologies (minimum 3 exits)
- Deep understanding of singularity theory and exponential growth models
- Certification in Futures Studies from World Future Society
