Responsibilities
- Design and implement ethical governance frameworks for next-generation AI systems including quantum computing applications
- Lead cross-functional workshops with engineers, policymakers, and social scientists to identify ethical risks in emerging technologies
- Author white papers and policy briefs on AI ethics for UN, OECD, and World Economic Forum summits
- Develop predictive models for societal impacts of AI deployment using scenario planning and foresight methodologies
- Advocate for ethical AI standards at congressional hearings and international technology forums
- Mentor graduate researchers in AI ethics and futurism through Horizon's partnership with Stanford and MIT
Qualifications
- PhD in Philosophy, Ethics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years of AI ethics experience
- Proven track record of publishing peer-reviewed research on AI ethics or technology futures
- Deep expertise in bias mitigation, explainable AI, and autonomous system accountability
- Experience working with regulatory bodies (FTC, EU AI Board, etc.) on technology policy
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for complex technical-ethical topics
- Proficiency in foresight methodologies (horizon scanning, Delphi technique, etc.)
- Portfolio demonstrating influence on corporate or governmental AI policy decisions
