Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding patients who require special dietary accommodations.
- Administer medication reminders and accurately document daily logs and vital signs.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to reduce feelings of isolation and depression.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, including laundry, cleaning, and changing linens.
- Accompany clients to medical appointments, shopping trips, and social events as needed.
- Monitor the client's environment for safety hazards and report any changes in health to the supervisor.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- Current state Caregiver certification or CNA license is required.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation are mandatory.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Physical stamina to lift and assist patients (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and a patient, empathetic demeanor.
