Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures including injections, wound care, and EKGs
- Perform phlebotomy and basic laboratory tests following strict protocols
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Coordinate patient flow and maintain efficient exam room preparation
- Provide patient education on medications, treatments, and preventive care
- Handle administrative tasks including scheduling, billing, and insurance verification
Qualifications
- Active certification as Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in ambulatory care
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- Valid BLS/CPR certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent required
