Responsibilities
- Monitor Patient Condition: Observe patients' general well-being and report any changes in physical or mental condition to the Registered Nurse (RN).
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist with Daily Living: Help patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting as needed.
- Medication Assistance: Administer medication as prescribed and directed by the nurse, ensuring proper documentation.
- Patient Hygiene: Provide basic hygiene care and ensure the patient's environment is clean, safe, and comfortable.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely patient records and charts in accordance with hospital policies.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current, unencumbered Colorado State CNA certification required.
- CPR/BLS: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred but not required.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients for extended periods; physical capability to assist with transfers.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Compassion: Demonstrated empathy and a genuine desire to help patients in need.
