Responsibilities

  • Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature, reporting any abnormalities to the charge nurse immediately.
  • Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
  • Provide basic wound care, change dressings, and assist with mobility exercises as directed by nursing staff.
  • Document patient care activities accurately and timely in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members regarding patient conditions and needs.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients and staff in accordance with infection control protocols.

Qualifications

  • Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of New Mexico.
  • CPR/BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) required.
  • Previous experience in a hospital, nursing home, or home health setting is preferred but not required.
