Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses and licensed practical nurses.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
- Monitor and accurately record patient vital signs, fluid intake, and output.
- Respond promptly to patient needs and communicate changes in condition to the nursing staff immediately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary patient environment in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families during their stay.
- Perform light housekeeping and meal preparation as assigned to ensure patient comfort.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of Ohio required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient advocacy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients as needed.
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care and a professional demeanor.
