Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and feeding assistance as needed.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, reporting any abnormalities to the RN or Charge Nurse immediately.
  • Assist patients with mobility issues, including transfers to and from beds, wheelchairs, and walkers.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols and OSHA standards.
  • Document patient care activities, changes in patient condition, and communication with the healthcare team accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by licensed nursing staff, ensuring proper documentation and safety.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure holistic care.

Qualifications

  • Current and active Florida CNA License (or LPN/LVN eligibility).
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification from the American Heart Association.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or home health setting preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on empathy and patient advocacy.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients frequently throughout the shift.
  • Basic computer literacy for electronic documentation.
