Responsibilities
- Monitor Vital Signs: Regularly check and record patient blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Mobility Support: Safely assist patients with walking, transfers, and positioning to prevent falls and ensure comfort.
- Medication Support: Aid patients with medication reminders and administer medications as directed by licensed nurses.
- Communication: Clearly document patient conditions and report any changes or concerns to the nursing staff immediately.
- Hygiene Maintenance: Ensure patient rooms and surroundings are clean, safe, and organized at all times.
- Emotional Support: Provide compassionate companionship to patients to reduce anxiety and improve their quality of life.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid and active state certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA).
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification (ACLS preferred but not required).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital, long-term care, or home health setting preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 lbs), and perform physical tasks.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
