Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and report any significant changes to the nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary patient environment to prevent infection and promote healing.
- Assist with patient transfers and mobility using proper body mechanics and equipment.
- Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner using electronic health records (EHR).
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by licensed nurses.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required in the state of Texas.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients and families.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not required.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift patients as needed.
- Compassionate, patient-centered attitude with a focus on safety.
