Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming (ADLs).
  • Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, reporting abnormalities to the RN immediately.
  • Assist patients with mobility, transferring, and walking using proper body mechanics and transfer equipment.
  • Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and individual preferences.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment to prevent infections and accidents.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Document patient care activities and changes in condition in the electronic health record accurately and timely.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid State of Maryland CNA license required.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting is preferred.
  • Strong compassion, empathy, and patience for the elderly or medically vulnerable population.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Basic computer literacy and ability to use electronic health record systems.
