Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming (ADLs).
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, reporting abnormalities to the RN immediately.
- Assist patients with mobility, transferring, and walking using proper body mechanics and transfer equipment.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and individual preferences.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment to prevent infections and accidents.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Document patient care activities and changes in condition in the electronic health record accurately and timely.
Qualifications
- Current and valid State of Maryland CNA license required.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting is preferred.
- Strong compassion, empathy, and patience for the elderly or medically vulnerable population.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to use electronic health record systems.
