Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assistance with Mobility: Safely transfer and assist residents in and out of beds, wheelchairs, and vehicles using proper body mechanics and transfer equipment.
- Medication Administration: Support the medication administration process under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, including setting up trays and documenting intake.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date resident records in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Emotional Support: Build meaningful relationships with residents through conversation, social activities, and companionship.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to resident needs and emergency situations following established safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and active North Carolina CNA license.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in long-term care, assisted living, or hospital setting preferred.
- CPR/BLS: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and medical staff.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
- Compassion: Genuine empathy and a patient-centered approach to care.
- Computer Literacy: Basic computer skills for navigating electronic documentation systems.
