Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respirations, reporting any abnormalities immediately.
- Provide basic nursing care and emotional support to patients and their families during their hospital stay.
- Assist with patient mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and transfer equipment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, charts, and documentation in compliance with hospital policies.
- Communicate changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse in a timely manner.
- Ensure the patient environment is clean, safe, and orderly.
Qualifications
- Current and valid State of Wisconsin Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (ACLS preferred).
- Previous experience in a hospital, acute care, or long-term care setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to patient safety and comfort.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients as needed.
