Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patients' vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring dignity and comfort at all times.
- Provide basic bedside care, such as feeding patients and serving meals, as directed by the Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Move patients safely and comfortably using proper body mechanics and lifting techniques to prevent injury.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment by following infection control protocols and cleaning procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and address concerns.
- Document patient care activities and changes in condition accurately in electronic health records.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Nebraska State CNA Certification.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
- Basic computer proficiency for electronic charting.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
