Responsibilities
- Assess Patient Needs: Observe patients' conditions, monitor vital signs, and report any changes to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Provide personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
- Administer Care: Assist with range-of-motion exercises, turning and repositioning patients, and transferring them to and from beds or wheelchairs.
- Document Care: Accurately record patient information, including intake and output, and update care plans as necessary.
- Medication Support: Assist with medication administration under the supervision of a licensed nurse, ensuring patients receive their prescribed treatments.
- Emotional Support: Build rapport with residents and provide companionship to enhance their mental well-being.
- Environment Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid Washington State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- CPR Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Experience: Previous experience in a long-term care or acute care setting preferred.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, push, and pull patients and equipment as required.
- Compassion: Genuine passion for helping others and a patient-centered approach.
- Availability: Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
