Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Monitor Patient Health: Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates accurately and timely.
- Assist with Mobility: Help patients move safely between beds, wheelchairs, and stretchers, ensuring patient safety at all times.
- Document Care: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and care plans in accordance with facility policies.
- Communicate with Team: Relay important changes in patient condition or concerns to the Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse immediately.
- Ensure Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for both patients and staff.
Qualifications
- CNA Certification: Must hold a current, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant license in the State of Kansas.
- CPR/BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- High School Diploma: Minimum educational requirement is a high school diploma or GED.
- Experience: Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting is preferred but not strictly required for immediate hires.
- Compassion: Strong emotional intelligence and a genuine desire to help patients.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients as needed for extended periods.
