Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Provide direct care to patients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring their dignity and comfort at all times.
- Vital Signs: Accurately monitor and record patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assistance: Assist nurses and physicians with patient mobility, transfers, and personal hygiene needs.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient changes in condition to the nursing staff and document all care activities in electronic health records.
- Environment: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment in accordance with safety protocols.
- Safety: Follow all infection control and safety procedures to protect patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current State of Maryland Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required.
- Training: Graduate of an accredited CNA program.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not required for qualified candidates.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift, push, and pull patients as well as stand for extended periods.
