Responsibilities
- Monitor Patient Vital Signs: Regularly check and record patient blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to ensure health stability.
- Assist with Daily Living Activities: Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, to maintain patient hygiene and dignity.
- Medication Assistance: Support patients with medication reminders and administration under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient emergencies and alarms, following established protocols to ensure safety.
- Patient Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to provide updates on patient conditions and needs.
- Environment Maintenance: Ensure patient rooms and common areas are clean, safe, and organized throughout the night shift.
- Documentation: Accurately complete shift reports, incident forms, and patient care logs.
Qualifications
- CNA Certification: Current, unencumbered state licensure as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (ACLS preferred but not mandatory).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a long-term care or hospital setting preferred.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
- Reliability: Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work rotating night shifts (3rd shift).
- Soft Skills: Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
