Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, and report significant changes to the nursing staff.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients during the night shift.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment to prevent infections and accidents.
- Communicate effectively with the nursing team and physicians regarding patient status and care plans.
- Document all care provided accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications
- Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of California.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred, especially in night shifts.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
