Responsibilities
- Patient Monitoring: Observe and report changes in patient condition, vital signs, and behavior accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assistance with Care: Provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, and grooming as needed.
- Care Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and charts according to facility protocols.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and patients to ensure coordinated care.
- Hygiene & Safety: Ensure patient rooms and common areas are clean, safe, and organized throughout the shift.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient calls and assist in emergency situations as directed.
Qualifications
- Certification: Active, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the District of Columbia.
- Basic Life Support (BLS): Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability: Must be willing and able to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift and move patients weighing up to 200 lbs and stand for extended periods.
