Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming assistance, to ensure patients maintain a high quality of life.
  • Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist patients with mobility issues using wheelchairs, walkers, or other assistive devices to prevent falls.
  • Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and patient preferences while maintaining proper hygiene standards.
  • Communicate effectively with nurses, doctors, and other medical staff to report changes in a patient's condition or behavior immediately.
  • Assist with personal hygiene tasks such as toileting, incontinence care, and changing linens.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment in compliance with hospital infection control policies.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid North Carolina State CNA Certification (required).
  • CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or equivalent (required).
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent (preferred).
  • Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is highly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients and families.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift patients (up to 50 lbs), and perform physical tasks as needed.
