Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, reporting any abnormalities to nursing staff immediately.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including ambulation and transfer from beds to wheelchairs using proper body mechanics and safety protocols.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and patient preferences, ensuring a comfortable dining experience.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, adhering to strict infection control and sanitation standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license issued by the state of Indiana.
- CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on empathy and patient advocacy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as required by the role.
- Commitment to maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
