Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming assistance.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist patients with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments as directed by nursing staff.
- Document patient care activities, symptoms, and progress accurately in electronic health records.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license valid in the state of Nebraska.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or CPR certification.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and assist patients with heavy lifting when necessary.
- Compassionate demeanor and a commitment to patient dignity and privacy.
