Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, in a respectful and compassionate manner.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and safety equipment.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including toileting, feeding, and range-of-motion exercises.
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure holistic care.
- Respond promptly to patient call lights and emergency situations following established protocols.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered CNA license issued by the State of Indiana.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull patients weighing up to 250 lbs as necessary.
- Must demonstrate compassion, patience, and a professional demeanor under pressure.
