Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assistance with Medical Procedures: Support nursing staff with wound care, catheter care, and medication administration under supervision.
- Patient Communication: Act as a liaison between patients and the healthcare team, documenting changes in patient condition and reporting concerns immediately.
- Hygiene and Comfort: Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients, ensuring strict adherence to infection control protocols.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient emergencies and assist in evacuations or emergency procedures when necessary.
Qualifications
- CNA Certification: Valid and current state-issued Certified Nursing Assistant license in Ohio.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- CPR Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained or maintained.
- Experience: Prior experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or home health setting is preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and families.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
- Compassion: Strong empathy and a genuine desire to help those in need.
