Responsibilities
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
- Assist with patient transfers using proper body mechanics and mobility equipment.
- Update and document patient care plans accurately in electronic health records.
- Communicate effectively with the nursing staff regarding patient changes in condition.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients.
Qualifications
- Current Virginia CNA Certification (CNA-I) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and move patients weighing up to 250 lbs.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
