Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and report any abnormalities to the nursing staff.
- Assist patients with mobility, transferring them safely from beds to wheelchairs or stretchers.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and patient needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the Registered Nurse (RN).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient care records and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required; active state license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Previous experience in a hospital, nursing home, or home health setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, such as lifting or repositioning patients.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment under the direction of nursing leadership.
