Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense medications and verify prescriptions under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control and maintain sterile compounding environments
- Process insurance claims and handle patient billing inquiries
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy
- Train new technicians on pharmacy software and compliance protocols
- Conduct quality assurance checks and documentation reviews
Qualifications
- Active Michigan Pharmacy Technician certification
- Minimum 1 year hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and DEA regulations
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25 lbs
- Compounding certification a plus
