Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify patient information
- Prepare IV medications and compound sterile/non-sterile products
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory, including ordering and stock rotation
- Process insurance claims and maintain prescription documentation
- Provide medication counseling to patients under pharmacist supervision
- Maintain compliance with state/federal pharmacy regulations and HIPAA
- Operate pharmacy management software and automated dispensing systems
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacy Technician license
- Prior hospital or retail pharmacy experience preferred
- PTCB or ExCPT certification required
- Strong attention to detail and math skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25 lbs
- Basic computer proficiency with EMR systems
- High school diploma or equivalent required
