Responsibilities
- Medication Preparation & Dispensing: Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications to patients and healthcare professionals under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Prescription Verification: Review prescriptions for completeness and accuracy, checking for drug interactions and allergies before dispensing.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and manage inventory using state-of-the-art pharmacy management systems.
- Patient Assistance: Provide exceptional customer service by answering patient inquiries regarding medications, insurance coverage, and refill processes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, medication profiles, and controlled substance logs in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Quality Control: Assist in the quality assurance process by performing routine checks on medications and maintaining a clean, sterile pharmacy environment.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Pharmacy Technology preferred.
- License: Active Nevada Pharmacy Technician license.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to multi-task and maintain high accuracy in fast-paced environments.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with computer systems and pharmacy software (e.g., Cerner, McKesson).
