Responsibilities
- Preparation & Setup: Prepare operating rooms and sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment prior to surgery, ensuring all surgical equipment is functioning properly and sterile.
- Assistance: Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and sterile supplies, holding retractors, and cutting sutures.
- Sterility Maintenance: Maintain aseptic techniques throughout surgical procedures and ensure the sterile field is maintained.
- Patient Care: Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and demonstrate initiative in patient care and safety protocols.
- Documentation: Accurately record equipment and instrument counts and maintain accurate surgical records.
- Endoscopy Support: Assist with endoscopic procedures and specialized surgical interventions as required.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery (CST) credential required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current RN or Surgical Tech license in the state of Nevada.
- CPR Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Skills: Proficiency with laparoscopic, open, and robotic surgical instruments.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively under pressure.
