Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/after surgery
- Prepare patients for surgery by washing/draping and positioning
- Manage surgical supplies inventory and sterilization processes
- Adhere to OSHA and AORN safety protocols
- Collaborate with surgical teams to optimize patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- 2+ years of recent surgical tech experience preferred
- Graduation from accredited surgical technology program
- Knowledge of sterile processing and sterilization methods
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience with major surgical specialties (orthopedic, neuro, etc.)
