Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterile fields, and surgical instruments according to procedure protocols
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and sterile supplies
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques and sterilization standards throughout procedures
- Count and document all surgical instruments, sponges, and equipment pre/post-procedure
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure seamless surgical workflow
- Manage sterile processing and inventory of surgical supplies
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Accredited Surgical Technology program graduate or equivalent military training
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year of recent OR experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification maintained
- Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterile processing protocols
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced surgical environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and call rotations
