Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate patient care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature accurately.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and ensure their comfort and safety at all times.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and nutritional requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation in accordance with hospital policy.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
- Support nursing staff with basic medical procedures and emergency response protocols.
Qualifications
- Current, valid State of Illinois Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license and registration.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (or willingness to obtain).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care, or home health setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs safely.
- Compassionate, patient, and detail-oriented work ethic.
