Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and safety equipment.
- Communicate changes in patient conditions to the RN or charge nurse immediately.
- Administer medications as prescribed and document all care accurately in the electronic health record.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and safe environment for patients and visitors.
- Support the nursing team with documentation, charting, and supply management.
Qualifications
- Current and active Louisiana CNA License (LSBN) required.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or skilled nursing facility preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Compassionate demeanor and a genuine desire to advocate for patient needs.
