Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming to ensure patient dignity and comfort.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse rates, accurately.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and safety equipment.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and patient needs.
- Document patient care activities, intake and output, and changes in patient conditions in the electronic medical record.
- Communicate effectively with the nursing staff, physicians, and patient families regarding patient status.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Louisiana.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1+ years of experience in a clinical or long-term care setting preferred but not required for high-potential candidates.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient advocacy.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
