Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and feeding assistance, while maintaining the highest standards of dignity and respect.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, reporting any significant changes to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
- Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures, ensuring they are comfortable and informed.
- Document patient care plans and daily progress notes accurately and timely in electronic health records.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure holistic care.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized environment to prevent infection and promote safety.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in good standing with the New York State Department of Health.
- High school diploma or GED required; current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred.
- Entry-level candidates with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for patient advocacy are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs safely.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation (optional but recommended for shift coverage).
