Responsibilities
- Patient Monitoring: Accurately measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Personal Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting with dignity.
- Environment Maintenance: Ensure patient rooms and common areas are clean, safe, and organized at all times.
- Care Documentation: Maintain detailed and up-to-date patient records in compliance with HIPAA and facility standards.
- Communication: Effectively communicate changes in patient condition to the nursing staff and charge nurse immediately.
- Support Services: Transport patients to other departments or testing areas as directed.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and active Michigan State CNA license required.
- Basic Life Support: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, push, and pull patients and equipment up to 50 lbs as needed.
