Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Accurately monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, alerting the nursing staff to any deviations.
- Assist patients with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times to prevent falls and injuries.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in electronic health records (EHR) regarding patient status, care provided, and any changes in condition.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure a cohesive approach to patient recovery.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients and staff in accordance with health department regulations.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments as directed by a registered nurse under supervision.
Qualifications
- Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Illinois.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred.
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
- Proven reliability and ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are preferred.
