Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates as directed by nursing staff.
- Medication Assistance: Support patients with medication reminders and documentation, adhering to strict safety protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- Patient Mobility: Safely assist patients with moving, walking, transferring between bed and wheelchair, and positioning to prevent bedsores and ensure comfort.
- Hygiene & Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and infection-free environment for patients, ensuring linens are changed and living areas are organized.
- Communication: Effectively communicate changes in patient condition to the charge nurse and document all observations accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Certification: Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Maryland is mandatory.
- Experience: No prior experience required. We welcome new graduates and career changers with a passion for healthcare.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 250 lbs; ability to stand for extended periods and walk frequently.
- Interpersonal Skills: Compassionate nature with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Reliability: Must pass a background check and drug screening.
