Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assisting with bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding as needed.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately.
- Assist nurses with wound care, medication administration, and patient transfers using proper body mechanics.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients and staff in accordance with hygiene standards.
- Document patient care activities and changes in patient condition in electronic health records (EHR) promptly.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure holistic care.
- Respond to patient inquiries and provide emotional support to patients and their families during difficult times.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license valid in the State of California required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or long-term care setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and a patient-centered approach.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
