Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring dignity and comfort at all times.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, reporting any abnormalities to the RN immediately.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, using proper body mechanics and transfer techniques to prevent injury.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the licensed nurse, strictly adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation in compliance with hospital policies.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure holistic care.
- Respond promptly to patient calls and emergency situations, demonstrating critical thinking and composure.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license valid in the State of New York.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care facility is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Valid State ID and proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
