Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Medication Assistance: Support residents with medication reminders and documentation under the supervision of the RN/LPN.
- Emotional Support: Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families, providing companionship and emotional comfort.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and care plans in accordance with facility policies.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to call lights and emergency situations, ensuring resident safety at all times.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Valid and current North Carolina CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) license required.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a long-term care or hospital setting preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and staff.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods while assisting residents.
