Responsibilities
- Monitor patient vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature) and report any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Prepare and serve meals according to prescribed dietary restrictions and patient preferences.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient medical records and documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families during their stay.
- Transport patients to treatment rooms, operating suites, or diagnostic imaging using wheelchairs or stretchers.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and sanitized environment for all patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the District of Columbia (DC).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate required.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift patients weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening prior to employment.
