Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families during their stay.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment by adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Communicate changes in patient condition, behavior, or response to treatment to the nursing staff immediately.
  • Assist with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
  • Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and individual preferences.

Qualifications

  • Current Louisiana State CNA Certification (Licensure required).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on empathy.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects for extended periods.
  • Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting is preferred.
