Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate patient care under the supervision of registered nurses and licensed practical nurses.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Document patient care plans, progress notes, and changes in condition according to hospital policies.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team.
- Respond promptly to patient needs and call lights while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
Qualifications
- Current, active Virginia Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license or certification.
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers is required.
- Previous experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or home health setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Physical ability to lift, move, and position patients weighing up to 50 pounds as necessary.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required for facility rotation.
