Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, ensuring accuracy.
- Assist with mobility, transferring patients between bed and wheelchair, and ambulation support.
- Feed patients according to dietary restrictions and report any changes in appetite or eating habits to the nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients and staff.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team regarding patient conditions and needs.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered CNA license in the District of Columbia.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.
- Previous experience in a hospital, nursing home, or home health setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
- Reliable transportation and ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
