Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, ensuring accuracy.
- Assist nurses with medical procedures and treatments as directed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Document patient care plans and progress notes promptly and accurately.
- Respond to patient needs and emergencies with compassion and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required, valid in the District of Columbia.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or acute care setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients as necessary.
- Compassionate, patient-oriented mindset.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the DC metro area.
