Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and toileting assistance, ensuring dignity and comfort at all times.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, reporting any significant changes to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, utilizing proper body mechanics and assistive devices to prevent injury to patients and staff.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and nutritional plans, ensuring proper documentation of intake.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to update care plans and address concerns.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, adhering to all infection control and safety protocols.
- Administer prescribed medications under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and document all administrations accurately.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required (NH or AZ state license).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently throughout the shift.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (optional but preferred for facility transport).
- Compassionate demeanor with a patient-first attitude.
